أدان خبراء* أمميون في مجال حقوق الإنسان الإخلاء القسري والتهجير لعائلة غيث صب-لبن والعديد من العائلات الفلسطينية الأخرى في القدس الشرقية، وحذروا من أن هذه الخطوة قد ترقى إلى “مستوى جريمة حرب” تتمثل في الترحيل القسري. وشددوا على ضرورة التراجع عنها فورا.
وقال الخبراء الأمميون في بيان يوم الأربعاء: “إنه لأمر مروع ومحزن للغاية أن نرى نورا غيث ومصطفى صب-لبن، وهما زوجان فلسطينيان مسنان، يُطردان من منزل أسرتهما حيث عاشا طوال حياتهما وربيا أطفالهما”.
طردت الشرطة الإسرائيلية بالقوة نورا غيث ومصطفى صب-لبن من منزلهما في البلدة القديمة في القدس في الساعات الأولى من يوم 11/ يوليو. وتملك العائلة عقد إيجار محمي للمنزل منذ عام 1953، وفقا للبيان.
وقد أفادت تقارير بأن العائلة تعرضت لمضايقات ودعاوى قضائية مستمرة من السلطات الإسرائيلية والمستوطنين الذين يسعون للاستيلاء على المنزل، بموجب قانون تمييزي بطبيعته ينطبق على الفلسطينيين في القدس الشرقية.

UN human rights experts* have condemned the forced eviction and displacement of the Ghaith Sub-Laban family and many other Palestinian families in East Jerusalem, and warned that the move could amount to the “war crime” of forcible transfer. They stressed the need to withdraw it immediately.
“It is appalling and deeply saddening to see Noura Ghaith and Mustafa Sub-Laban, an elderly Palestinian couple, being evicted from their family home where they have lived their whole lives and raised their children,” the UN experts said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Israeli police forcibly evicted Noura Ghaith and Mustafa Sub-Laban from their home in the Old City of Jerusalem in the early hours of July 11. The family has owned a protected lease on the home since 1953, according to the statement.
The family has reportedly been subjected to constant harassment and lawsuits from the Israeli authorities and settlers seeking to take over the home, under an inherently discriminatory law that applies to Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
